I needed to put a portfolio together of work and I found photos of these two pieces that I made for the Material Matters exhibition. Material Matters was a fabulous initiative organised by @create.cic and @creativekernowassociates it was taught by the amazing combination of @janesmithglass and @heleneasthamstudio . It gave me the desire to play with glass and copper in different ways which will enhance my enamelling artwork.

I was lucky enough to attend the workshop on Using Foils, Leaf and Lustres run by expert enameller @sheilamcdonaldjewellery during the annual conference of the @guildofenamellers. Sheila is a fantastic tutor and I was lucky enough to get my book Creative Enamelling published by @thecrowoodpress signed! Fantastic clear guide that every step is explained.
Today is being spent writing up the test tiles I created.

Starting to plan the colour scheme I want for the @tonicgallerysalcombe exhibition in May. The theme is colour and light, I am going to use blues for the colour and polished copper for the light. First step is using watercolour paints to get my palette, the next step is using copper to do the test tiles to see which enamels and what temperature achieve the results I want.

What a wonderful view to have breakfast and start filling in my diary for 2026. Next year I want to keep a photo/video journal of my creative practice, to show the ups and downs of being an artist/craftperson.

At the moment it’s all nice and calm until May. I am hoping to spend the first quarter of the year creating work for the second quarter, and the third creating work for the fourth. That’s the plan but since when do things go to plan 😆

I will be sitting down with my agent @hannah_andrews_arts_services to go through the plans when I get back to Cornwall.

Heads-up @wm.handmade an order of old and new designs will be winging its way to you soon for some of your fantastic handspun copper vessels and I might even sneak in a silver one as well!

I will be getting my cortisone injection into my hip on 22nd December so will be back full steam in the New Year getting ready for a group exhibition in May at @tonicgallerysalcombe, popping down to #Salcombe tomorrow to discuss the theme and colours.
