Enamelling Weekend
Discover the world of enamelling in this inspiring two-day course, designed especially for absolute beginners. Starting from the very basics, you will be guided through the fundamentals of enamelling in a friendly and supportive environment. There will only be three students on this course.
On the first day, you will explore the different types of enamel and a wide range of application techniques. You will learn how to prepare both enamel and copper, before applying enamel using traditional sieving methods. Using hammers, stencils, and a rolling mill, you will experiment with adding texture and pattern to your copper surfaces. You will also be introduced to a variety of firing techniques, from hand-held torches to creative overfiring in the kiln.
On the second day, you will build on your skills by exploring more expressive approaches, including applying enamel in a watercolour style and working with wet packing techniques. By the end of the course, you will have a strong foundation in enamelling and the confidence to continue developing your own creative work.
You will be supplied with copper squares and shapes to work on and alll enamels will be supplied
Each day will be from 9am - 5pm
Cost of this weekend cost is £275.

Accommodation can be organised for an additional cost.
Enamelling course
The content is the same as the weekend enamelling course. It is run one morning a week over a four week period.

Suitable for beginners, learn how to apply prepared enamel to copper shapes and fire in a kiln, make either a necklace or a pair of earrings.
